PlayRobots was founded in 2009 by 3 University of Reading undergraduates after undertaking a practice of entrepreneurship course with the aim to design, develop and distribute low cost, easy to use electronics for students and hobbyists alike. This was with a view to enable anyone access to learning electronics and be able to undergo personal projects. Based on personal projects PlayRobots also began work on hardware and software to enable visually impaired students and engineers access to visually oriented content.
Unfortunately as we were unable to secure a complete source of funding and lack of interest these projects were abandoned in a professional sense but are still developed for open access (as can be found in our projects and download sections).
PlayRobots currently has two employees, Dr. Anthony Portelli and Mr Andrew Hood who between them have a wide range of knowledge and experience in many areas of technology.
